This incredible antique British hallmarked sterling silver chalice trophy measures 9cm high x 9cm wide and weighs 80g (140g including the base). The hallmarked trophy consists of the traditional British hallmarks as follows: The manufacturers stamp "M&W" confirms it was made by Mappin & Webb, The "Anchor" Assay mark confirming it was made in Birmingham, the "Lion Passant" mark confirming it is British 925sterling silver and the date stamp "w" confirming it was made in 1904.

The date stamp ties in with the engraved names on the trophy which commenced in 1904 and to the Mappin & Webb makers stamp which was used between 1899 and 1920.

The chalice has age-related wear and tear as shown in the pics, but considering it is 118 years old, one would expect that. Please view the pics carefully to fully appreciate this amazing Edward VII sterling silver goblet trophy and to confirm the condition.
