This ultra rare sterling silver carriage is a miniature version of Queen Elizabeth II's silver jubilee coronation carriage of 1977. The miniature silver carriage was made by Toye, Kenning & Spencer limited for the occasion. The carriage measures 8cm long x 3cm wide x 4cm high and weighs 70g. he hallmarked silver carriage has been preserved in a red with red lined satin hard box.
The hallmarks on the carriage are as follows: The makers mark TK & S confirm it was made by Toye, Kenning & Spencer Ltd, the Anchor Assay mark confirming it was made in Birmingham, The Lion Passant mark confirms it is British sterling silver (925), the date stamp C confirms it was made in 1977 and it also has the special QEII bust hallmark which was only used in 1977. At the time of release this was only the 2nd time that a hallmark such as this was used, the previous one being for the silver jubilee of King George V and Queen Mary in 1935.
The carriage is in beautiful condition and has been well protected in the box. There is absolute minimal age and usage related wear and tear. Ideally, it should be sent into a jeweller for a good deep chemical clean to really bring out the minute details.
