This rare vintage (c1950's) Halina 35mm slide viewer in its original box measures 12cm long x 9cm wide x 9cm high and the box measures 13cm long x 11cm wide x 11cm high.
The 35 mm slide photography became a thing of mushrooming popularity in the 1950s to 60s era and lead to the establishment of an entire industry for the production of slide mounts and projectors. Slide viewers are handheld devices which can be used for viewing photographic images and film transparencies either by individual viewing or using an incorporated light source.
The current item is the Halina viewer for photographic slides which was quite famous back in the 60s. They were simple battery operated and magnifying lens equipped with slides mounted into the top slot and light fell from the source from the opposite end.
The viewer has normal age and usage related wear and tear and scuffs etc. The box has protected the viewer quite well and also has age and usage related wear and tear. The viewer has not been tested to see if it is in working condition and sold as is. Please view the pics carefully to fully appreciate this awesome mid-century 35mm slide viewer and to confirm the condition. The viewer would need batteries and possibly a new globe.
