This antique British hallmarked sterling silver (1912) "Midlands Agri-Horti cultural Society Gwelo.S.R" medal weighs 29.59grams. The front of the medal has the society's name and on the reverse is "W H Rogers 1925" within a wreath. The medal is hallmarked with the letters "PPL" confirming it is a Payton & Pepper piece, the Anchor Assay town mark confirming it was made in Birmingham and the letter "n" confirming it was made in 1912. The medal was awarded to Rogers in 1925. Gwelo changed its name to Gweru in 1982. These medallions are rare and not always available on the internet.
