This incredible antique sterling silver dip pen was made by Allen Dominy in 1798, from research the letters AD confirm he is the maker and that was his 1793 hallmark. Allen Dominy entered the London silversmiths in 1790. The date letter C was used in 1778, 1798 and again in 1818 so i would presume with the AD (1793) hallmark the dating is right. The lion Passant confirming it is British sterling silver. The Leopard confirming it was made in London. There is writing on the nib of the pen 'a made by' i however cannot see the maker. As shown in the pics there is a little wear around the nib.
Please view the pics carefully to fully appreciate this incredible antique dip pen and to confirm the condition.
